This success has made her famous all over the world. The real launch of the Diane Von Furstenberg brand took place in 1997, when she relaunched the jersey dress and expanded her designs to complete the ready-to-wear collections with shoes, handbags, jewellery and other accessories, but also home decorations. In 2005, she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. She was named president of this important structure in fashion in 2006. Diane Von Furstenberg has an active role in mentoring and supporting emerging talents and women leaders and entrepreneurs. What is Design Concept

a. WHAT ?

A design concept is the idea behind a design.
It’s how you plan on solving the design problem in front of you.
It’s the underlying logic, thinking, and reasoning for how you’ll design a website.
Your concept will lead to your choices in color and type.
It’ll choose your aesthetic and determine your grid.
Every design decision you make will fall back on your concept for direction.
Your design concept becomes the framework for all your design decisions.

A design concept is the idea behind a design. It’s how you plan on solving the design problem in front of you.
It’s the underlying logic, thinking, and reasoning for how you’ll design a website
 – Steven Bradley, 2013.

b. HOW ?

Create a concept :

Design Brief ;Once the basic needs are identified, you then prepare what’s called a design brief.

A design brief is a clear statement of objectives for the project, listed in order of priority.

The brief indicates how you plan to meet those objectives and includes a timeframe in which each step will be accomplished.

The brief explains in detail what the design steps are as well as explain the approval and edit cycles which are part of the overall process

Direction ;Even if you’re clear about what you’re designing and why,

your plan also will be defined by your budget.

Sketching Out the Idea ;While you may not yet have the complete concept totally finalized in your mind,

it’s time to start transferring snippets and ideas from

your brain to the page (and, yes, we do mean a piece of paper, not a page on the computer screen).

From your first drawings, approaches will emerge that will lead you to your final design.

That’s the essence of concept development—taking your thoughts and ideas and putting them down on paper.

Example : Many elements of fashion run in cycles, some being short, and some lasting longer.
Typical to these cycles are:
 -Lengths , FabricsSilhouettesColoursHistorical Inuences

Design Philosophy

What does others say about the designer’s work / style:
Magnus Berger "What I found really interesting about the last show season in Paris, it’s almost this epidemic of referencing the Nineties, and a lot looks the same, even the editors. With a few exceptions, the ones who are supposed to be pushing for new things, they’re all wearing the same things"

What did the designer says his philosophyin design is :
“My job is not just to design clothes but to also give a new vision to fashion,”

What do you think about their design influence/style/inspirations?

What I think about his design is that it is very contemporary, unique, very modern and artistic in its own way and not many can mimic him .
